An adult male was arrested for driving under the influence after he drove his car into the side of a Burlington Northern Santa Fe train on Monday, March 14.
According to a press release by the Kanabec County Sheriff’s Department, around 6 p.m., the driver drove into the side of the train carrying 105 loaded cars of ore, at Hwy. 107 & 115th Ave. north of Braham, near Grass Lake, in Kanabec County.
There were no other occupants in the car, and the driver was transported to a Mora hospital where he was treated for minor injuries.
The car was totaled, and the train did sustain damages that had to be repaired before it could move. No one on the train was injured.
The driver is expected to be arraigned in Kanabec County Court later this week.
