Bluejacket boys bow out in first round

The Section 7AAAA boys basketball payoffs got underway March 10 when No. 2 seed Blaine defeated No. 7 Cambridge-Isanti 61-32.

The Bengals held the Bluejackets scoreless for 9:02 in the first half, opening up a 19-4 lead, and were never threatened. Senior Zach Romashko was high scorer with 20 points for Blaine. Seniors scoring in their final game for Cambridge-Isanti were Ted Lutterman (6), Ryan Rosenberg (5), Cory Prybilla (4), Preston Bosacker (2) and Mike Henderscheid (2). Junior Jonah Poppen added 6 points.

Playing for the 7AAAA title game March 18 are Blaine and top-seed Duluth East. In the March 15 semis, Blaine beat Forest Lake 81-57 and East held off Anoka 80-75 in overtime.
