Braham boys keep rolling in section playoffs
Braham won its 25th game of the season by knocking off Esko 69-57 in the Section 7AA boys basketball quarterfinals on Saturday, March 12 at the University of Minnesota-Duluth.
The win sends the defending-champ Bombers to the semifinals held at 7:45 p.m. Thursday, March 17 back at UMD against playoff rival Virginia. Braham is the No. 2 seed in the 7AA South, and Virginia (24-4) is the North’s top seed. The Blue Devils defeated Duluth Marshall 75-62 in their quarterfinal game on Saturday.
Those two teams last met in the 2009 7AA championship won by Virginia. Playing in the 6 p.m. semifinal game will be South No. 1 Moose Lake-Willow River (26-2) and North No. 2 International Falls (24-4).
The Section 7AA championship game will be Saturday, March 19 (7 p.m.) back at UMD.
