The Emergency Food and Shelter National Board Program has issued a Funding Advisory for Isanti County.
The advisory states that funding is not currently available nor guaranteed for the future, but advises Isanti County organizations to meet and determine their funding needs for 2011 in order to be prepared for funding availability.
A meeting of the Isanti County Local Board will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, March 18, at the MinnCo Credit Union Meeting Room, 236 2nd Ave SW, Cambridge.
Under the terms of the grant from the National Board, local governmental or private voluntary organizations chosen to receive funds must be non-profit, eligible to receive federal funds, have an accounting system and conduct an annual audit, practice nondiscrimination, have demonstrated the capability to deliver emergency food and/or shelter programs and if they are private voluntary organizations, they must have a voluntary board.
A Local Board made up of local county officials, food shelves, shelters and faith-based organizations, Red Cross, and Salvation Army, will determine how the funds awarded to Isanti County are to be distributed.
Agencies or organizations wishing to make application for a portion of these funds must submit a written request/application no later than 4 p.m. on Monday, March 14.
