Amid rising gas prices and increasingly rising costs for many basic goods and services, Connexus Energy has no plans to increase its rates in 2011.
Connexus Energy’s Chief Executive Officer Mike Rajala said the cooperative’s Board and employees work hard to keep rates stable while continuing to meet high standards for reliability and service.
“We are proud to say we have met this goal for our members,” Rajala said. “We’re doing this at a time when other utilities in the upper Midwest are raising their rates and increasing electric bills for millions of consumers.”
According to Rajala, Connexus Energy’s rates remain affordable and are among the lowest in Minnesota.
“In the last few years, Connexus members have seen less than a one percent increase annually in their rates,” Rajala said. “While the pressure is on electricity prices to increase, we are doing all we can to ensure rate stability for our members. Electricity remains a great value.”
Connexus Energy is the largest member-owned utility in Minnesota providing electricity and related products and services to over 125,000 homes and businesses in portions of Anoka, Chisago, Hennepin, Isanti, Ramsey, Sherburne, and Washington counties.
