Yoga Classes

Several different levels of Hatha Yoga are being offered by Braham Area Community Ed on Tuesday evenings beginning March 29. Classes are taught by Chárrie VanVleet, RYT.

Beginners Class (7-8:15 p.m.): In this class you will learn to increase your flexibility, energy, strength and relaxation. This class incorporates physical poses, breathing exercises and restorative poses to achieve these results. Students at any level can unite the body and mind, for better health and well-being.

Intermediate/Continuing Class (5:30-6:45 p.m.): In this class, the breathe drives all movement. By using breathing exercises in conjunction with the physical postures, strength and flexibility will build. Students will leave with a calmer mind and an energized body. This class is designed for students at an intermediate level, who have an understanding and some knowledge to the practice of yoga. One year recommended.

These 8-week sessions run through May 24 (no class April 26) . Classes are held at the Braham Area High School. Pre-registration is due by Monday, March 21.

Create your own Memory Plate

Learn how to create your very own customized keepsake plate. Join Barb Dreyer for three Monday evenings at the Braham Area High School beginning April 4. Dreyer is a licensed teacher with a bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Ceramics. She has been a full-time potter for the past 11 years with her work being shown and sold throughout the Midwest.

While learning the slab building process through this Community Ed class, you will create a plate like no other. The plate will be a great piece for any occasion including Weddings, Mother’s Day, Friendship Day, etc. Start creating by bringing some special jewelry or mementos of your very own to the first class. There will also be an assortment provided by the instructor. This class is for all levels of learners ages 16 yrs. and up. Additional $5 materials fee paid to class instructor on the first night.

Classes will be held from 6:30-8:30 p.m. starting Monday, April 4 thru April 18. Pre-registration is due by Friday, March 25.

 

Firearms Safety Training

Certified DNR instructors will be leading the Firearms Safety Training that is being offered through the Braham Area Community Education. This course is required by the State of Minnesota for anyone hunting wild game.

Students must be 11 yrs. old by first day of class. All students age 12 and up will receive their certification with the successful completion of attendance and coursework. Anyone still 11 yrs. after completion, will receive their certification on their 12th birthday. At the first class you must bring a photocopy of your birth certificate, and students must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. Parent enrollment is also encouraged and welcome.

Class dates are March 21, 23, 29, 31, April 4, 6, 12, 18, 7-9 p.m., with Range Day on April 16 from 9 a.m.-Noon. Classes are held at the Braham Elementary School. Class size is limited and pre-registration is required by Monday, March 14. * Do not bring guns to class.
