Joseph Anthony Frieberg, 93 of Cambridge passed away peacefully under
hospice care on Feb. 21, 2011 at his daughter’s home in Stanchfield.
Joseph Anthony Frieberg was born on March 31, 1917 in St. Paul, Minn.
His parents were the late Platzi “Anthony” and Francis (Flanagan) Frieberg. Joseph grew up in the Grand Avenue area, St. Paul, Minn. where he attended the Cathedral Elementary grade school. He graduated from the Cretin High School with the class of 1935.
On Feb. 18, 1950 Joseph was united in marriage with Joyce Cecila Johnson in Duluth, Minnesota. Their marriage was blessed with four children.
Joseph was employed as a printer of the Golden Rule Department Store in St. Paul and also a printer for Pako. Joyce passed away on June 30, 1976.
Joseph is a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. The West Bank Motorcycle Club was a big part of his life, until retiring to his cabin in Mora in the 1980s. Always giving, whether little trinkets, or a good teasing, he will be carried in the hearts of those he loved.
Preceding Joseph in death were his parents.
Joseph is survived by his children: Kathleen (Gary) Olson; Mary (David) Frutiger; Victoria Frieberg, Larry McDonough; Barbara “Bege” (Layne) Stensile; Grandchildren: Robert Olson, James Olson, Rebecca Olson, Amber (Aaron) Rousu, Sadie (Steve) Witt, Noah (Maria) Wolfe, and Abby McDonough, Wyatt McDonough, and Thomas McDonough; Great-grandchildren: Aubrey Witt, Anthony and Ava Rousu; many other relatives and a host of friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 25, at Cathedral of St. Paul, 239 Selby Ave. Vitiation will be 1 hour prior to Mass.
