A new non-profit organization has recently formed that focuses on developing the skills of young men and women.

The Polaris Battalion, U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps is a non-profit program for young men and women ages 11 through 17 who are committed to developing their skills and ethics in leadership, basic seamanship, courage, self-reliance, military discipline, and are committed to being drug free, gang free and living a healthy life style.

Polaris Battalion will drill one weekend a month at the Cambridge Armory.

The Cadets of Polaris Battalion will be holding its first fundraiser on Feb. 14 at the Isanti VFW from 5 to 8 p.m. All are invited to stop in and meet the Cadets and Officers of Polaris Battalion. The Cadets will be serving the “Sweethearts Dinner” and the tips they earn will be used toward the Battalion’s needs for operation.
