High School Sports Schedule Feb. 10-15

Freshman contingent places 6th at 9th Grade State tourney

The Cambridge-Isanti wrestlers went 3-1 last weekend as the season winds down. The Bluejackets’ final regular-season meet will be the team’s “Senior Night” Feb. 10 against visiting Becker.

On Feb. 4, the C-I boys rolled past host Princeton 59-12 in a Mississippi 8 dual. On Saturday, the Jackets had a mix of wrestlers available for the Anoka Duals where the varsity went 2-1, with JV wrestlers also wrestling on an “All-Star” squad.

Cambridge-Isanti, ranked 5th in Class AAA, opened with a 41-21 win over Section 7AAA partner Anoka before falling to Class AA 9th-ranked New London-Spicer 39-34 in the semifinals. The Jackets bounced back with a 45-24 win over Grand Rapids in the 3rd-place match.

A contingent of Bluejacket freshmen placed 6th at the 9th Grade State tournament hosted at Champlin Park, also on Saturday. Tanner Torgerson placed 3rd at 119 to lead the C-I group. Also placing at State were: Reegan Lane (4th at 130), Kyle Chromey (4th at 171), Dakota Johnson (5th at 189) and James Frederickson (8th at 125).

RC-B Tigers head to GRC finals
Rush City-Braham wrestlers are gearing up for their final regular-season action this Friday. The Great River Finals will be hosted by Mille Lacs at Onamia, with All-Conference honors on the line.
