Jake Berry breaks Princeton pool record in Backstroke
The Bluejacket boys swim & dive team cruised to a 93-63 conference win at Princeton Feb. 3, raising their M-8 record to 3-1.
Senior Jake Berry (200 IM and 100 Backstroke) was a double-winner for Cambridge-Isanti in individual events. His 56.1 time in the Backstroke broke the Princeton pool record, held since 2000 by Chris Anderson, the son of C-I Assistant Coach Karen Anderson.
Adding 1st places were Jason Codner (200 Freestyle), Grant McCormick (100 Butterfly), Darren Codner (500 Free), and Matt Taray (100 Breaststroke).
The Jackets opened the meet by sweeping the top two spots in the 200 Medley Relay. Winning the event were Benj Nault-Maurer, David Voller, Landon Acre-Kendall and D. Codner. The C-I foursome of J. Codner, Calvin Cicha, Voller and Nault-Maurer added a 1st place in the 200 Free Relay.
C-I’s final regular-season meet is this Saturday’s Chisago Lakes Invite.
