Reynold Harold Soderquist, 83, of Mora, passed away Thursday, February
3, 2011 at GracePointe Crossing West Gables of Cambridge.
Reynold was born Jan. 7, 1928 to parents Arnold and Annie (Nordstrom)
Soderquist in Dalbo Township in Isanti County. He grew up with eight
siblings and attended District 66 country school in Dalbo. As a young
man, Reynold would work the harvest runs in Groton, S.D.
On June 1, 1963, Reynold was united in marriage to Diane Kay Sickler at the Salem Lutheran Church in Minneapolis. Together the couple had two sons, Jimmy and Harold. The family lived in Brooklyn Park until 1967 when they moved to Edgewood, just south of Cambridge. During his life, Reynold worked at a number of different companies including: Brown & Bigalow Plastic, Hall Implements in Princeton, and eventually retired from EPC in Mora.
Reynold was an outdoorsman. He took great pride in his lawn, and spent many hours on his John Deere rider, fighting the leaves, weeds and dandelions. He also enjoyed jumping on the four-wheeler and riding in the woods, or down to visit the neighbors. He loved to tinker in his garage fixing his truck, and time spent restoring a tractor with his son Harold. Reynold also loved animals. He enjoyed the deer, turkeys, and squirrels that ventured into the yard, as well as his German Shepherd, Keller and Tomcat, Tommy. Most of all he loved his family and friends. He will be dearly missed.
Reynold is preceded in death by his parents, and brother Stanley Soderquist.
He is survived by his wife Diane of Mora, sons Jimmy and Harold of Mora, siblings Leonard (Marcella) Soderquist of Cambridge, Clifford (Marilyn) Soderquist of Wahkon, Lorraine Blomquist of Coon Rapids, Joyce (Leroy) von Berge of Plato, Irene (Ralph) Hoeft of Princeton, and Jeanette (Jim) Johnson of Anoka; sister-in-law: Beverly Soderquist of Blaine; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 9, at the Rock Ingebrand Funeral Home of Braham with Chaplain Norm Norland presiding. A time of visitation will be from noon to 1:30 p.m. Arrangements were entrusted to the Rock Ingebrand Funeral Home of Braham.
