Radar Run on Rush Lake Feb. 5

Candlelight Ski Night Feb. 5 at College
Anoka-Ramsey Community College is hosting its annual Candlelight Ski, Saturday, Feb. 5, 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. at the Cambridge Campus. Everyone is invited to this free event to join college faculty, staff and students for an evening of skiing or hiking along two miles of Spirit River Nature Area’s candlelit trails near the Rum River.
Skiing begins from the Campus Center on the east side of Co. Rd. 70, and there is free parking next to the Campus Center. Festivities include hot chocolate, door prizes and music by local blue grassers Mystery Mountain Boys. Ski rental available through Outdoor Edge (reserve by calling 763-552-3343).
Long Lake Ice Fishing Contest Feb. 5
The Long Lake Improvement Association will host its 2011 Ice Fishing Contest Saturday, Feb. 5 from 11 a.m.- 2 p.m. (registration begins at 9 a.m.). Held inside a roped off area on Long Lake west of Isanti, cost is $10/pre-drilled hole. Raffle tickets are $1 (need not be present to win raffle prizes). Fishing prizes: $300 largest game fish; $200 Most game fish; $50 Smallest game fish; $50 First bullhead.
C-I Traveling Softball registration nights
The Cambridge-Isanti Grand Slammers will hold registration nights on Feb. 7 at Isanti Middle Schools and Feb. 9 at Cambridge Intermediate School. Both sessions runs 5:30-7 p.m. Traveling league ages range from 8-18, and In-House Softball is for girls ages 7-14.
