The City of Braham’s annual audit hearing with Burkhardt & Burkhardt, CPA will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, prior to the next regular City Council meeting.
That date was set at a quick Feb. 1 council meeting which included the city contributing its $781 share to the Isanti County EDA for a market analysis/feasibility study for a rail-served industrial park in the county.
Mayor Ken Ceaglske updated those in attendance that four side-rail sites are presently under consideration: one between Braham and Stanchfield, one between Stanchfield and Cambridge, one within Isanti city limits, and one south of Isanti.
Another effort at finding potential employers for the Braham region came with the council signing back on with the Northern Technology Initiative of Pine City for its “GPS 45:93” service of recruiting startup and established manufacturing companies. The annual fee with NTI is $750.
The council also approved a two-year extension contract renewal with the Isanti County Attorney’s office for prosecution services.
The rate for services is the same as 2011 at $15,201 annually.
In other action, the Council:
• Approved the 2011 Braham Fire Department officer appointments: Line Officers– Chief Jeff Jones, Asst. Chief Dean Bondeson, Capt. Shawn Fisher, Asst. Capt. Erik Wentworth. Business Officers– President Dean Bondeson, Vice Pres. Steve Leaf, Secretary Peter Hesselroth, Treasurer Ross Benzen.
