Exciting events planned in February

Isanti Senior Dining Events for February, 2011

Isanti Senior Dining, volunteer

Though most days in January had snow falling, Isanti Senior Diners still met on Monday and Wednesday at the Isanti Community Center for fun and fellowship at 11 a.m. and a nutritious meal at noon.

We learned about healthier eating from Ruth Thunstrom, had our blood pressure taken by Angie Swensen (volunteer from Guardian Angels) and enjoyed the Country music of Doyle Peck. Many thanks to the above for helping us through a cold and snowy month. We also thank Florence Cohen for calling bingo on several days.

Some people get their exercise by jumping to conclusions but Seniors that attended “Beach Day” at the Center received exercise on that day with lots of laughter (which also keeps you healthy). With “Beach Side” artifacts on several tables (beach towels, sun glasses, sun hats, sea shells etc.) helping to project the thoughts of warm sunny days at the beach, we tried to keep bright red balloons in the air as we tossed them back and forth as though they were beach balls and we were playing volley ball.  Seniors are never too old to have some fun!

Our final day in January was enjoyed with that old time music of Tony Jambor. Thanks Tony and Ben Halton!

We don’t have a clue what type of weather we will receive in February but we know there are some great times scheduled ahead.
