Everett Allen Paulson

oubt_paulson.jpgEverett Allen Paulson, 67, of Grasston, Minn., passed away January 14,
2011 at Villa Healthcare Center in Mora, after a courageous battle with
lung cancer. 

Everett was born July 19, 1943 in Superior, Wis. to Clarence and Matie Paulson. He grew up on the family homestead in Alpha, Wis. where he attended Woodlake Country School and was confirmed in his faith at Calvary Covenant Church. He graduated from Grantsburg High where he met Judy Olson. They married on July 29, 1961. To this union three children were born and the young family made their home in Blaine, Minn. Everett was apprentice and earned his Journeyman’s license as a drywall taper and belonged to Painters and Allied Trades Union Local 386.  He later married Gaylis Staber in 1971, and moved to St. Francis, Minn. where they spent many weekends fishing, camping and snowmobiling with their children.

Louann Lucht came into his life in 1980 and the two married on June 20, 1981. Everett was baptized at St. Andrews Lutheran Church in Bethel, Minn. where the couple built a log home. They later moved to Grasston, Minn., where Everett built his dream home, retired at the age of 62 and spent time enjoying his electric train. He was a member in Hope Lutheran Church and will be remembered for many special things, including maintaining a perfect lawn, a well kept home and his head of red hair. He loved to talk to anyone about anything and especially enjoyed all family gatherings and holidays. Everett was a wonderful husband, dad, brother, uncle, grandpa, great grandpa and friend to many.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister Sharon Paulson. Everett is survived by his wife Louann of Grasston, Minn.; six children Mark Paulson (Trade Lake, Wis.), Tod Paulson (Trade Lake, Wis.), Susan (Jim) Wilkus (Underwood, Minn.), Laurel Lucht (Braham, Minn.), Lane Lucht (Rochester, N.Y.) Lonnie (Nancy) Lucht (Pine City, Minn.); eight grandchildren Ellen Ferry, Spencer Ferry, Emily Paulson, Brandon (Tracy) Lucht, Diana (fiancé Andrew) Lucht, Tony (Angie) Lucht, Casey Lucht, Sully Lucht; one great grandchild Nicholas Lucht; one brother Joe (Judy) Paulson (New Richmond, Wis.); three sisters Carole Paulson (Siren, Wis.), Jean (Jim) Foster (Roberts, Wis.), Sandra Olson (Waskish, Minn.); two sister-in laws Iris (Hubert) Lindblad (Naples, Fla.), Barbara (Sam) Sorkilmo (New Hope, Minn.) as well as many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends

Funeral services were held Jan. 17, at Hope Lutheran Church in Grasston, Minn. with Rev. Herman Bakker officiating. Music was provided by Elaine Keehr, Erik Olson and Ellen Ferry. Casketbearers were; Gale Paulus, Bud Welsch, Mike Sahlin, Gary Zavadil, Jim Bowman and Gary Quame. Honorary Casketbearers were; Ellen Ferry, Emily Paulson, Tony Lucht, Diana Lucht, Casey Lucht, Sully Lucht, Spencer Ferry and  Brandon Lucht. Interment was at Wood River Cemetery in Grantsburg, WI. Arrangements were entrusted to Rock – Ingebrand Funeral and Cremation Service of Braham, Minn.
