Two team records fall for C-I boys Swim

New marks set in Butterfly, 200 Free Relay during pair of dual meet victories

The Bluejackets began the Mississippi 8 schedule with a commanding 105-81 victory over the Bison in their home pool Jan. 6.

C-I senior Jake Berry set a team record in the 100 Butterfly (54.88) that has stood since set by Tim Johnson in 1977. His time also set a Mississippi 8 conference record for the event. Davis Zaske of Buffalo set a Mississippi 8 Conference record in the 100 Breaststroke.

Berry added a 1st place in the 200 IM (2:05.9). Also posting individual 1st places for the Bluejackets were David Voller (50 Freestyle and 500 Free) and Jason Codner (100 Free). Both the C-I 200 and 400 Freestyle relays also won their races.

C-I 3rd at Panther Invite
On Saturday, the C-I boys placed 3rd at the Spring Lake Park Invite. The Jackets totaled 415 points to finish behind Elk River (495) and conference-partner Monticello (345) in the 8-team gathering.

Berry posted the team’s lone win on the day with a 55.3 time in the 100 Backstroke. He was also in the 2nd in the Butterfly (55.2). Codner in the 50 Free (23.7) and Calvin Cicha in the 200 IM (2:16) both had 3rd places for the Bluejackets.

More top-8 individual finishes for C-I at the Panther Invite were: Voller (4th in the 200 Free, 5th in the 500 Free); Zach Stewart (4th), Billy Eifert (6th) and Parker Brown (7th) in Diving; Landon Acre-Kendall (4th in Butterfly); and Benj Nault-Maurer (6th in Backstroke).

Relay mark set in win over Andover

Cicha added a 1st place in the 200 IM, Codner posted the top 50 Free time and Voller won the 100 Free. More C-I 1st places came from Landon Acre-Kendall (Butterfly), Parker Brown (Diving), and Nick Solberg (Breaststroke).
