Francine F. Martin, 67, of Cambridge died peacefully December 29,
2010 at her daughters home after a courageous battle with pancreatic
Francine Fay Martin was born Sept. 10, 1942 in Sisseton,
S.D. to Herman and Frances (Carls) Hensel. She was raised in the Milaca
area and graduated from Milaca High School in 1961. She also graduated
from St. Cloud Beauty School.
Her family was most important to her and she loved her two daughters dearly. Francine also cherished her times with all of her family. She was a very caring person and as her brother Darold states, she was the most unselfish person he has ever met. Francine provided loving care to her parents and that same caring manner was evident in her work at the Dakota Communities group home in Goldenwood. She was an avid reader and also loved to travel.
Francine will be lovingly remembered by her two daughters, Michelle (Kevin) Chinnock of Isanti, Jennifer (Joseph) Widell of Rush City; three brothers, Robert (Joyce) Hensel of Clearwater, Dwayne (Kay) Hensel of Cold Spring, Darold (Mary Ann) Hensel of Shoreview; one sister, Theresa (Jerry) Carpenter of Pine Springs; three grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Samantha, and Megan; and by other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Frances Hensel.
Funeral services were held Jan. 3 at Strike Funeral Home – Cambridge Chapel. Pallbearers were Jerry Carpenter, Kevin Chinnock, Darold Hensel, Dwayne Hensel, Robert Hensel and Joseph Widell. Interment was in Athens Lutheran Cemetery
