After 22 years of being located on Second Ave., the Chuck Swenson Agency of State Farm Insurance in Cambridge has found a new home.

About a month ago, State Farm Insurance moved from its location on Second Ave., to 227 S. Main Street, the former location of East Central Electric.

"For years now, we've wanted to move to a more central location, for the convenience of our customers and parking," said owner Chuck Swenson. "We've added additional personnel and services, so we needed a little more space."

With the move into the new building, State Farm has acquired an additional 600 square feet. The office has received all new decor and each agent has their own private office.

Swenson noted State Farm was located on Main St. during the 1950s and 1960s and said he's very pleased the office is once again located on Main St.

"Everyone's really excited about the move; everything's new in our office," Swenson said. "The move went very well and the State Farm technology department was very helpful during the transition."

Postcards and letters were sent to all State Farm customers notifying them about the change in location. Swenson said he has received positive feedback from the customers and so far they haven't had a problem finding the new office.

One newer aspect of State Farm Insurance Swenson is excited about is the State Farm Bank.

The State Farm Bank is a full service bank that can be accessed through the world wide web. On State Farm's website, www.statefarm.com, customers can learn about the wide variety of State Farm Banking products and services.

Services include checking and savings accounts; auto loans; home mortgage and home equity loans; boat/recreational, ATV, jet ski, snowmobile and motorcycle loans; fixed rate and market rate CD's and Money Market Accounts.

Customers can access their accounts through on-line banking.

Swenson said his agents are licensed for handling mutual funds.

Swenson pointed out his dad used to own a business on Main St., and he's proud he can do the same.

"With our additional services, we needed more space to accommodate our staff and take care of our customers," Swenson said. "My dad had a business on Main St. It's fun to have an old historic Main St. location."
