C-I's Johnson runs at State Cross Country meet

Cambridge-Isanti senior Todd Johnson ran a time of 17:15.7 in the 5000-meter course at St. Olaf College to place 54th in the Class AA boys race on Nov. 2. Competitors at the State meet were blessed with sunny skies and 44ƒ temperatures in Northfield.

The Hopkins squads swept the Class AA boys and girls titles for the second straight year. The Grand Rapids girls had the best team finish of the Section 7AA entrants, placing 3rd.

-- Forest Lake swept North Branch 3-0 to win the Section 7AAA Volleyball title on Oct. 31. The Rangers will open the Class AAA tournament vs. Lakeville at 11 a.m. Nov. 7 at the Xcel Center.

St. Cloud Cathedral defeated Moose Lake-Willow River to win the Section 5AA Volleyball championship. Cathedral opens the Class AA tourney at 5 p.m. Nov. 7 at the Xcel Center vs. International Falls.
