A Sauk Rapids man was charged Nov. 13 with felony criminal vehicular operation resulting in substantial bodily harm after it was determined that he had used methamphetamines prior to a rollover crash July 14, 2001 just north of Cambridge.

According to the criminal complaint, Bina lost control of the vehicle he was driving on Hwy. 65 near the Purple Hawk golf course and it struck a driveway approach before becoming airborne and rolling over.

Injured in that crash was a female passenger who was treated at North Memorial Medical Center for a fractured hip.

Ben Edward Bina, 25, has been a prisoner at Moose Lake Correctional Facility since December 5, 2001 where he is incarcerated on a felony theft charge lodged in Stearns County. He is scheduled for release January 13, 2003.

Bina is scheduled to return to Isanti County Dec. 4 for an omnibus hearing on the criminal vehicular operation charge.
