Jacket girls hockey kicks off winter season this FridayPosted Online: 11/12/02 The high school winter sports season officially gets under way this Friday night, Nov. 15, when the puck will drop for the Cambridge-Isanti girls hockey team's first game. The Bluejackets will host Moose Lake for the 7:30 p.m. non-conference battle at the David C. Johnson Memorial Arena in Isanti. C-I took two games from the Rebels last season, 2-1 in overtime at home and 7-0 on the road. Brad Nowak returns as the Bluejacket head coach, assisted by Joe Washleski, and their team will have a new look with seven players departing through graduation. Jesse Doig will be centering the top line, teamed with Helen Rosing and Natalie Hines. Captains junior Mindy Sulerud and senior Heather Reid will be back to anchor the defense, and freshman newcomer Whitney Wisen will be in goal in the opener. The Bluejackets' following game will be Tuesday, Nov. 19 at Proctor (7 p.m.). ©Isanti County News |
