Plat approved for third addition High Point Estates which includes villasPosted Online: 11/12/02 By Greg Hunt At the short Nov. 7 Braham City Council regular meeting, plats for more development in the High Point Estates area were approved. Braham building inspector Marshall Lind and Ron Grundyson of the Braham Development Co. were on hand to explain the nuances of the 3rd Addition to the High Point Estates single-family dwelling work, located on the southeast side of town. The council approved the final plat for the 28-dwelling site. Grundyson also explained the concept behind the four twin homes which make up High Point Villas, and they are designated for a site originally planned for eight single-family dwellings. The council approved the preliminary plat on those town homes, with a list of contingencies to be worked out by the developers. In other development news, engineer Brian Miller recommended the council to reject the bids from the sludge storage tanks which were presented at the October meeting since they were deemed too high. Miller advised that the bidding process could be attempted again in January or February, 2003. Account clerk hired Donna Holland, who is presently the part-time billing clerk for the city, was hired to replace the retiring Ann Reimer as the new Braham Account Clerk. Holland was selected out of 63 applicants for the position. The council will now be advertising for Holland's former position of part-time billing clerk. In other action, the council accepted the resignation of Andy Weidendorf from Hometown Liquor Store, the city's municipal liquor store. -- The Braham Truth in Taxation Hearing is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 3 before the regular meeting. ©Isanti County News |
